What is linen?

From seed to sheet, there is so much that goes behind the making of our luxe linen. Long story short, linen is a natural fibre that comes from a flax seed and grows into a flax plant. The fibres that grow inside the stalk of the flax plant are then harvested. The fibres are then separated from the harvested stalks before being woven into a delicately soft, but durable fabric. The harvesting and separation process is done by hand to protect the fibres from damage to maintain the highest quality fabric. As you can see, there is a very long and laborious process involved before our head hits the lush, soft pillow. This is why linen is considered a luxury item.

Why choose linen?

Linen is an organic material that is breathable, highly absorbent and hypoallergic. Linen keeps you cool in summer and comfortable in the winter, ideal for the Australian climate. With each wash, linens softness and appearance is enhanced. Linen is an extremely durable fabric and if well looked after can last up to a decade. Linen is eco-friendly and made from organic fibres.

Do I need to wash my linen before use?

It is not necessary to wash your linen before use as all our linen arrives stone washed. Stone washing is a technique used to enhance the softness of our products by using volcanic stones. However, if you prefer to wash your linen before use, that is completely fine. 

How much is shipping?

We offer free shipping Australia wide on all orders over $100. Any orders under this value will incur a $12 shipping fee. If you are outside Australia, you can read more on our shipping rates here.

What is your return policy?

We know you will not be disappointed when you feel our luxe linen for yourself. We take great care in inspecting our product before it is sent to you, however, in the unlikely instance that your order is damaged or deemed faulty we are happy to provide you with a refund or exchange within 14 days of receiving your item. Please send an email to our customer care team at: hello@driftcollective.com.au with photos and once inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your request. Drift Collective will not accept returns if the product has been used. Please note you will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item.

How can I pay for my order?

You can pay using your credit or debit card at checkout or via PayPal or AfterPay.

When will my order be sent?

How to wash my linen.

We recommend you wash your linen in a warm machine wash. We love the feeling of sheets line dried in the sun, however if you wish to tumble dry, please use a gentle cycle. Do not bleach or dryclean linen. Your sheets can be ironed with using a low heat, however we like to leave ours natural and embrace the crumples as they only add to the beauty and comfort. We advise washing your sheets once every 2 weeks for maximum hygiene and to keep your linen feeling amazing, the more you wash your linen, the softer it becomes.
